Mit dem Wasseroberflächenabzug (OFA) werden die organischen Verbindungen der Selbstreinigungskraft des Aquariums zugeführt. Der OFA zieht die Wasseroberfläche in den Filter und beseitigt die Kahmhaut.

Eine Kahmhaut auf dem Wasser ist unschön und behindert den optimalen Gasaustausch. Sie besteht aus Bakterien und Mikroorganismen, die besonders gut bei zu hohen Nährstoffkonzentrationen im Aquarium wachsen.

Der Oberflächenabzug zieht die Kahmhaut und das Protein (Eiweiß) in den bakteriellen Filteraufbau ab und sorgt so für eine strahlend saubere und entspannte Wasseroberfläche.

Zudem wird das Wasser optimal mit Sauerstoff angereichert, ohne dass das für den Pflanzenwuchs so wichtige Kohlendioxid ausgetrieben wird. Der Ph-Wert steigt nicht, die Redoxspannung wird stabilisiert und die Fotosynthese optimiert.
