250 ml (170 g) binden 9000 mg Nitrat.
Filterbeutel liegt bei.

Nitrat (NO3) ist zwar nicht giftig, blockiert jedoch das Wachstum von Fischen und Pflanzen und führt zu unerwünschtem Algenwachstum in Aquarien und Teichen. Nitrat wird von Bakterien nur unter anaeroben (sauerstofflosen) Bedingungen abgebaut. Dies erfolgt z.B. im Bodengrund oder im Riffgestein von Meerwasseraquarien. Jeder normale biologisch arbeitende Filter produziert Nitrat. Der Nitratverbrauch der Pflanzen ist oft nicht so hoch, so dass sich Nitrat im Wasser anreichert und vielfach zu vermehrtem Algenwuchs führt.
